little black book

in grade eight we had these notebooks where we had to write down characteristics of people, places, or things that struck us. or names of people, or anything like that. the random stuff that is never good in most writing by 'kids' and amazing in little kids' work and sometimes perfect in big kids(adults) work. i never completely grasped the concept. well, i thought i had at the time. but now looking back, it was pathetic and i tried so hard! but thats besides the point. the point is that today, the best revelation of the day, break-through, whatever you want to call it was that i finally mastered the concept of: little notebook.
i got off the bus and my mom goes,
"o, you need to go home dont you. whoops. i forgot the umbrella and you dont have a rainjacket."
then i got swept up by a chariot of angels and drove the way home with a kind soul and two.
so then here's where my little notebook comes in.
so we're driving home through the pouring rain and,
"o no, i was going to do something, now i forget!...........o ya!!!" - and on go the windshield wipers. -

love,
ALL SUMMED UP

deja vu of deja vu! no, actually!

ps. i read this in my geography textbook and the way it was written, all blunt like, disturbed me.:
When molten rock reaches the surface of the earth, volcanoes are formed. These incredible features are among the most dangerous places on the earth, yet people seem to love to live near them. All around the Ring of Fire and across the world people have populated the slpes of volcanoes. When Mount Vesuvius erupted in the year 79, the people of the city of Pompeii were instantly killed by the poisonous gases and coated with the ash that rained down on them. Their bodies rotted away and left cavities in the petrified ash. Plaster of Paris was injected into the ashen moulds to form life-like statues of the volcano's victims.

the only thing i remember putting in those journals was something about those two girls...evonne and ..miquela playing horses. we used to watch them from the fire escape. remember? hehe, and throw our apples at the neighbours shed. hehe, we were a rebellious bunch;).

I could be wrong Brent but I've got a feeling it wasn't so much poisonous gases as it was...a river of molten rock...

yeah, i did that whole "random things of interest" writing at one point too. although i guess its sort of silly to laugh at it. because if i was always laughing at the silly things i did and said and wrote when i was younger, i would never ever stop laughing. and groaning. i would be too petrified to actually do anything in the present. maybe that's why so many people have such strong nostalgia. oooh, issues of self confidence (and other self-things) are such seesaw things.

what do you mean hannah? time spent looking back makes for more nostalgia, and that's bad? i don't think i agree. nostalgia is a deeper sense of being....i don't really understand it - though i know it.

i didn't have a specific meaning. i was just thinking about it. just a little thought, you know? going on its way.

both my feet are asleep. or actually, just waking up, with that tingly feeling that you get that makes it impossible to keep your feet still. so i'm sitting here moving my feet around uncomfortably.
and they fell asleep in the first place because i have a habit of sitting at the computer with my feet up on the desk at slouching in my chair so my feet are about at the level of my head.
