connie in egypt
CONNIE IN EGYPT
this is the play one of my monologues is from.
'I also had a look at the sphinx this afternoon and it was impressive too, even though she seems to have let herself go just a bit. There was a guided tour passing when i was there and i sort of tagged along for a while but the man was speaking french so i wasn't as enlightened as i could have been. in french though, the sphinx is called "la sphinge", which i thought was kind of elegant.
"je suis la sphinge. qui etes vous?"
"moi, je m'appelle connie."
"ah connie, donnez-moi une cigarette, s'il vous plait."
"mais sphinge, je regrette que je n'ai pas des cigarettes. je suis une...non-smoker."
"ah, c'est dommage. mais, pas des regrettes, connie. pas des regrettes. ce sont les mots eternelles de la sphinge, las phinge, la sphiiinge..." '

It's not too late you know, you could switch to this monologue...
It's awesome cause even though I'm no longer very good at french, I still understood most of what was being said...
The sphinx is very funny. I think I found a new life hero...
cigarette
that's the first word i saw
and this is when i regret not taking french...
ya right jonathan. nooo-o-oo thanks. i spent so long today on that darned monologue. but it /is/ rather awwesome.
i'm playing a girl named connie in james & steve's video for v-block final projects. it's fun :P.
i could actually understand most of the french. maybe i should have stayed in it...
the sphinx let herself go. that sounds interesting.
you should have john.
but then i'd have to actually learn it, and i wouldn't take as much fun out of reading french.
thats true thats true. unless you like learning it. and even if you dont. once you get fluent, its so fun (or at least im assuming.)
i don't think i'd ever be able to speak it fluently, even after four years of learning. but i can read it fairly well right now.
haha
not long enough for a monologue, but still funny.
