connie in egypt

CONNIE IN EGYPT
this is the play one of my monologues is from.
'I also had a look at the sphinx this afternoon and it was impressive too, even though she seems to have let herself go just a bit. There was a guided tour passing when i was there and i sort of tagged along for a while but the man was speaking french so i wasn't as enlightened as i could have been. in french though, the sphinx is called "la sphinge", which i thought was kind of elegant.

It's not too late you know, you could switch to this monologue...

It's awesome cause even though I'm no longer very good at french, I still understood most of what was being said...

The sphinx is very funny. I think I found a new life hero...

but then i'd have to actually learn it, and i wouldn't take as much fun out of reading french.

i don't think i'd ever be able to speak it fluently, even after four years of learning. but i can read it fairly well right now.
